Construction work comes with physical risk. We believe that a shared education and understanding helps reduce accidents and injuries at job sites.
We discuss safety protocols and workplace risks to ensure our team has the knowledge and tools to follow safe work practices. When employees are able to identify and prevent risks, they keep themselves and everyone else on the site safe.
Toolbox Talks supplement OSHA safety training. Our teams meet weekly to discuss construction safety hazards and review proper procedures.
Our employees complete the OSHA Outreach Training Program in construction standards and workplace safety. All Killian employees who are supervising work have an OSHA 30 and any other employees on site have an OSHA 10.
Our safety program helps everyone on the team understand and follow state and federal regulations, including OSHA 29 CFR 1926 for construction.
Killian has just been awarded once again Diamond level status for 2025 by the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) for their Safety Training Evaluation Process (STEP).
STEP is a safety management system that improves safety performance and helps reduce job site incidents. Participating companies measure their safety processes using 25 key components and submit incident rate (TRIR) documentation. Based on this information, companies receive Diamond, Platinum, Gold, Silver, or Bronze recognition. Diamond is the highest level of recognition.
Killian has previously earned Diamond level status for the years 2021 and 2023, and Platinum level status for the years 2022 and 2024.
